Sacred
POSTPARTUM CARE
Holistic in-home care for women & families in the Louisville, Kentucky area.
Holistic postpartum care is your birthright.
You have welcomed your baby Earthside and are deep in the newborn motherhood journey. There is an outpouring of celebration and joy from all directions…
But all too often a severe lack of support. All over the world and throughout history it’s been expected that new mothers receive intensive pampering and care at least during the first 40 days of their baby’s lives. Although this is not the norm in Western culture, rest and recuperation is absolutely essential for healing and a joyful start with this new life.
A physiologically optimal postpartum period can lead a mother to wild creativity, explosive joy, and a powerful inner-compass that guides her forever.
And it requires an immense amount of support in all areas of life. You deserve the compassionate care of a wise woman in your home to hold space for you, meet your needs, and create the environment in which your Innate Knowing as Mother can thrive.
I’M LARA LASKY, YOUR
Innate Postpartum Care Practitioner
I have always considered myself a nurturer and helper. I deeply care for the earth and the people that live on them. I love making soul connections and hearing about people’s journeys. I attended my first birth, of my nephew, 22 years ago and was hooked on the magic of it all. I went on to attend births with family and friends and when I became a little disillusioned with my first career as an environmental scientist, I began as a volunteer birth attendant. I fell in love and knew this was my life’s calling.
Since then, I found myself deeply loving the sweet nature of postpartum care: tending to a mother so intimately in her sacred postpartum window is an honor that fulfills me in such a unique way.
I started a Doula Agency in Chicago that has blossomed into a successful community of women serving women in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I am so joyful to be claiming my own personal path as a certified Innate Postpartum Practitioner in Louisville, KY. and intuitively serving women of this community in postpartum.
Yoni Steaming
I facilitate Yoni Steams throughout your postpartum and provide all the necessary equipment for you to continue steaming when I’m not present. Steaming supports internal and external tissue repair, uterine cleansing and toning, relaxation, and circulation. It is a beautiful self care practice that can be continued into motherhood.

I provide my own homemade herbal products to support you in your sacred healing. This can include facilitating herbal baths during our visits, and brewing medicinal herbal teas and infusions. You can also purchase my products for long term use.
Household Support
I will care for your home in all of its needs, so that you and your family members can rest and move through your postpartum transition with ease. I will cook nourishing and nutrient-dense meals, clean, do dishes, do laundry, change diapers, and anything else that is needed around the home.

In a world full of conflicting advice, I offer clear, intuitive, and physiological education on all aspects of postpartum including: your healing, biologically normative newborn care, breastfeeding, optimal nourishment, and more.
Birth Processing & Emotional Support
I will hold space for your birth story in full, and whatever processing comes with it. In all of our visits, I am here for you as a grounded pillar of love and compassion, no matter what is coming up for you. I am also in emotional and spiritual service to your family, as you are all impacted by this big transition.
Womb-Tending
I offer womb-healing techniques and ceremony after birth, including Belly Binding and Closing of the Bones. Belly Binding is a gentle, ancestral practice that offers physical support while honoring the emotional and energetic integration of motherhood. Closing of the Bones is a deeply nurturing postpartum ritual inspired by traditional Mexican postpartum care and offered at Mother’s Compass as a respectful, modern adaptation.

CLOSING OF THE
Bones
A grounding postpartum ritual for gathering, healing, and returning to yourself.
A GRAND
Closing the Bones is a deeply nurturing postpartum ritual that helps a woman gently gather herself after the expansive experience of pregnancy and birth. This service for the community is inspired by traditional Mexican postpartum care and offered at Mother’s Compass as a respectful, modern adaptation.
This work uses rebozos from weavers in Mexico, intuitive touch, womb-centered massage, and energy balancing to create a sense of being held, supported, and brought back into your center.

A Closing the Bones session typically includes:
A warm, grounding arrival and check-in
Womb-centered massage and intuitive energy work (optional)
Rebozo wrapping of the head, shoulders, abdomen, hips, and knees and feet
Gentle, supportive holds that invite the body to feel gathered and aligned

Transitional seasons such as miscarriage, loss, or identity shifts
With gratitude to the teachers whose work informs my knowledge and reverence for this work: Lucia Echeri, Mayra Martinez, and Rachelle Garcia Seliga.
